Who we are
Pooler Magazine is published by Benson Jaja Marketing Group LLC, operating as J. DelSUR Marketing Group (we, us or our). We also publish Effingham Magazine and Bryan County Magazine and run their websites. This policy covers this website and the forms, accounts, newsletters and payments connected to it.
Our mailing address is 135 Goshen Park Ext., Suite 251, Rincon, GA 31326. For privacy questions, email privacy@jdelsurmarketing.com.
Information you give us
Accounts. When you create an account we collect your name, email address and password. Your password is stored in scrambled (hashed) form, so we cannot read it. We also record your account type and when you last signed in. We use these details to sign you in and to let you submit listings, events and photos, claim a business, buy services and vote.
Business listings. When you submit or claim a listing we collect the business name, address, phone number, email address, website, social media links, hours and logo. Listing details appear publicly in our directory once our team approves them, so please only share information you want published.
Events and photos. Events and photos you submit are reviewed by our team before they appear. By submitting them, you confirm you have the right to share them and you allow us to publish them on our websites, in our newsletters and in print. Our Terms of Service explain this permission in full.
People in photos. If you appear in a gallery photo and want it removed, contact us and we will take it down.
Best Of voting. To keep voting fair we record your account, the categories and nominees you vote for, and when you voted. Each account can vote once per business in a campaign.
Payments. Payments for listing upgrades, event tickets, sponsorships and plans are handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email address and what you bought. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe's privacy policy applies to the details you enter on its payment form.
Contact, advertising and newsletter forms. These forms are provided by GoHighLevel, the customer management system we use. When you send one, your name, email address, phone number if you give it, your message and the page you were on go into GoHighLevel so our team can reply and follow up.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we email you the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link and our mailing address.
Site emails. Account emails, such as password resets and notices that a submission was approved, are sent through Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES).
Information collected when you visit
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. It uses cookies and records the pages you view, your device type and your approximate location. You can opt out with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Meta Pixel. We use the Meta Pixel to measure our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to show our ads to people who have visited our site. Meta receives information about your visit, such as the pages you view, your browser and your IP address, and may set cookies. You can manage ad settings in your Facebook and Instagram accounts.
GoHighLevel forms. Pages with a contact or newsletter form load that form from GoHighLevel. GoHighLevel may set cookies and record that you visited the page, even if you do not send the form.
Google services. Address fields on some forms suggest results using Google Places, which receives what you type into that field. If a page loads fonts or maps from Google, Google receives your IP address. Google's privacy policy applies.
Server logs and security. Our web host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, for security and troubleshooting. We also log requests for pages that do not exist so we can fix broken links.
Advertising on our site. The ads on this site are placed by our own team and do not track you. If we add outside advertising partners, we will update this policy before they go live.
Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores for a website. We use cookies that keep you signed in and remember your choices, plus analytics, advertising and payment cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but signing in and checkout will not work without the necessary ones.
How we use your information
We use your information to run your account, review and publish what you submit, run Best Of voting, process payments, reply to messages, send the newsletter you asked for, understand how the site is used, measure our advertising, keep the site secure and meet our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site, and when the law requires it or to protect our readers, our staff or the public.
Our service providers are Hostinger (web hosting), Stripe (payments), GoHighLevel (forms, newsletter and customer records), Amazon Web Services (site email through Amazon SES), Google (analytics and address suggestions) and Meta (advertising measurement). Each one handles your information under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep account and submission records for as long as they are useful to run the magazines. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove it and the personal details attached to it. Listings, events and photos that already appeared in a printed issue stay in that issue.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time. Email privacy@jdelsurmarketing.com with your request. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on it. Residents of some states have additional privacy rights, and we honor them.
You can update your name, email address and password yourself on your Account page.
Children
Our sites are for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Content from our earlier website
Stories and business listings moved over from our earlier website remain published. If you want a listing corrected or removed, contact us.
Links to other websites
Ads, listings, magazine issues and articles link to other websites. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not cover them.
